Aeroallergen data is available -- Please contact us for details!

Our database contains daily pollen and spore counts for 30 sites across Canada, many of them having over 10 years of data.

We are also working with allergists all over North America, analysing their samples and providing them with reliable data for their practices. We can do the same for you -- For more information on this service please contact us.

ISO 9001:2000 Certified

We are proud to announce that Aerobiology Research Laboratories is ISO 9001:2000 certified. This assures our company has a standard quality management system.

2007 Aeroallergen Season

The 2007 pollen season has begun in some parts of the Country. Victoria and Vancouver are into the season. The alder season is just starting, it is late compared to some years. We will see what happens in the rest of the country since this has been such a cold February. We suspect the season will start quickly in many parts of the Country due to the warm weather we had during early winter.

The spring temperatures are always an important factor in establishing what the tree pollen season will be like, and this year will not be an exception. The winter was warmer than usual and this will probably have an impact on the kind of pollen season that we will have. We look at many factors that are important in determining what kind of season we will have; weather conditions when pollen is formed for the next year, cyclical patterns and the effect of climate change.

Predicting Large Sites and Diverse Distributions of Trees

One of the big problems that we are constantly faced with is predicting for certain sites with only one sampling location. Such examples are Halifax and Edmonton where elm distribution varies a great deal from one location to another at these particular sites. Another location is Calgary, where we presently have two locations and we are now producing reports for both sites.

TheWeatherNetwork / MétéoMedia Update

The reports are now being shown for all stations on TheWeatherNetwork / MététoMedia television and web site. The reports on TheWeatherNetwork / MétéoMedia are predictions for tomorrow's projected pollen levels. The report is strictly a prediction for tomorrow's pollen based on the predicted weather. For more details on the sites we have so far in the country please see our map, under the Allergen Update section of the website. Information on each individual location is more detailed.

We are pleased to announce that we are providing TheWeatherNetwork / MétéoMedia with predictions for three new sites: Kingston, Hamilton, and a second site in Calgary.

Other Sites!

Aerobiology Research also has collection sites located in Regina, and second sites in Toronto (downtown) and Montreal (near Montreal University). These sites are research projects and are not included in our reports to TheWeatherNetwork / MétéoMedia.

For information on data available from these sites please contact us.

Research

Research papers using our data are being published in various scientific publications. Presentations at medical, aerobiology and government conferences are part of our annual agenda. For those interested in research, please check out our Laboratory Services. We also have provided a list of publications in which were involved. Stay tuned for more information.

Last Updated: 03-March-2007

We are the source of pollen and fungal spore identification for Canada and we use professionally trained staff and not volunteers to ensure the accuracy of our results. We would be pleased to provide you with any additional information. We are able to set up stations or do counting anywhere in the world, quotes and information can be obtained by contacting us.

We hope that you have found our information useful and all feedback is welcomed. We get e-mails from many people and we are glad our mission is being accomplished. We cannot deal with all requests but we will do our best.
