Sampler Models

[ Image: The GRIPST-2000 ]

Aerobiology Research Laboratories offers three sampler models: GRIPS-99, GRIPST-2000, and the GRIPST-2003. The model GRIPS-99 was designed strictly for conducting qualitative analyses of the particles in the air or it can be adapted to collect for short periods of time. The GRIPST-2000 and 2003 can be used for both qualitative and quantitative sampling applications and also allow for the machines to be set to collect at different settings, usually for a 24 hour period.

GRIPS-99 [ price this ]
The model GRIPS-99 was developed primarily for agricultural uses and other qualitative sampling applications. Key features include: a rugged waterproof casing suitable for all types of extreme weather, rain shield roof to protect sample from wash off, and a heavy duty Globe Motor (made in USA). This sampler is equipped with a one and a half-inch sampler head mounting post designed to reduce air turbulence and thus optimize pollen and fungal spore collection. The post has been computer machined for balance and to reduce motor wear.

GRIPST-2000 [ price this ]
The model GRIPST-2000 is a timed collection samplers. They were designed primarily for aeroallergen research. As with the GRIPS-99 these samplers have a waterproof casing suitable for all types of extreme weather, and a heavy duty Motor. The sampler head mounting post is one and a half inches long to reduce air turbulence and optimize pollen and spore collection. The post is computer machined for balance and to reduce motor wear. This samplers also incorporate a solid state relay timer which can be set at different sampling rates and interval timing can be adjusted. The On - Off - Test switch is mounted on the exterior of the sampler to enable easy access.

GRIPST-2003 [ price this ]
The GRIPST-2003 model is an improved, robust version of the GRIPST-2000, for more extreme use. This sampler has an upgraded, heavy-duty, long-life motor, and includes a voltage regulator that allows one to calibrate sampling RPMs and will keep the RPMs stable with any >12VDC power source.

Aerobiology Research has designed these machines based on old technology and changes have been made to improve reliability and life expectancy of the epuipment.

Accessories

Sampling Heads (GRH-1)[ price this ]
These retracting sampling heads are made of corrosion-resistant materials, and spring-loaded to extend the sampling rods under centripical force during sampling and retract them for protection while the sampler is off.

Sampling Rods (GRR-1)[ price this ]
Injection-molded clear plastic rods, 1.59mm x 1.59mm x 32mm. These rods have a small nub that can be used as a reference point to determine the collection side of the sampling rod. Rods are available ungreased in packages of 100, or contact us for a quote on quantities of pre-greased rods.

Sampling Rod Holder (RMS-1)[ price this ]
Microscope slide used for mounting sampling rods for analysis, sometimes referred to as a microscope stage adapter. This clear plastic slide is machined with two polished grooves so that up to two rods (of 1.59mm diameter) can be analysed at a time. 76mm x 35mm x 3mm.

Laboratory Products
We also supply other laboratory support products, such as a silicone compound that is highly recommended for coating (greasing) rods prior to sampling, and Calberla's stain (containing basic fuchsin) -- an aqueous mountant that colours pollen to aid in identification.
