Allergist
William H. Yang, MD, FRCPC, FAAAAI
Dr. Yang is the President & Chief Executive Officer of Allergy and Asthma Research Centre & SCOPE Research,
Consulting Staff at the Ottawa Hospital, Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa
Medical School. He is the past President of the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, a non-profit
scientific organization to promote scientific research, education and improvement of quality assurance for the practise
of Allergy and Clinical Immunology in Canada. Dr. Yang's postgraduate training was focused in Internal Medicine (3
years), Pulmonary Medicine (1 year), and Allergy and Clinical Immunology (2 years) at the University of Western Ontario
Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.
Dr. Yang has served on many advisory boards for various pharmaceutical companies, including Schering-Plough, Aventis, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, and others. He is also involved in many clinical trials with Pharmaceutical companies for new allergy products to gain approval for delivery to market.
Aerobiology Research Laboratories and Dr. Yang work together to make the information we provide realistic as it relates to aeroallergen levels, allergic reactions and medical information.
Biochemist/Computer Analyst
L. Lee Coates (B.Sc., Chemistry/Biology)
Lee received his B.Sc. degree from Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada, with a major in chemistry and a minor in biology. He has thirty three years laboratory experience at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. During this time he served 12 years as Clinical Laboratory Instructor and for 5 years was involved in a pollen and spore identification and research program. This included developing the computer programs used to simplify counting and analysis of the resulting data. The privatization of this program led to the formation of Aerobiology Research Laboratories.
Biologist
Clifford W. Crompton (B.Sc., M.Sc., Biology)
With a 35 year career with Agriculture Canada specializing in weeds and weed control, Cliff was strategic in starting our training program for our staff when the company was first established. He is our biology consultant and is highly recognized in the field of Aerobiology, and the author of two books:
- An Atlas of Airborne Pollen Grains and Common Fungal Spores of Canada
- Pollen grains of Canadian Honey Plants
Microbiologist
Frances A. Coates (MLT)
Frances received her training at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and was certified by the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists. Specializing in microbiology she has worked in hospital, public health and private medical laboratories. Immediately before joining Aerobiology Research she spent seven years at the Laboratory Centre for Disease Control in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where her duties included work in food microorganisms, special pathogens, development of antigens and general microbiology.
Frances is the current President and CEO of Aerobiology Research Laboratories, where she specializes in pollen and spore identification, as well as the training and continuous quality monitoring of laboratory personnel and students in our correspondence courses.
